Vianey Lopez was first elected to the Hueneme Elementary School District Board in 2012. She has been a resident of Oxnard since 1992. Raised locally, she attended the Hueneme Elementary School District kindergarten through middle school before graduating from Hueneme High School. In 2009 Vianey graduated from Loyola Marymount University where she earned a bachelors of science in business administration. In April 2012 she completed a Masters in Public Policy from Pepperdine University where she emphasized her studies in international relations and state and local policy. Since moving back to Oxnard after attending LMU, Vianey has become a member of the board of directors for Future Leaders of America, Inc. and the League of United Latin American Citizens Young Professionals and is actively involved with the Ventura County Women’s Political Council.
Vianey believes in the power of education and equal learning opportunities. Parent involvement is just as important as a teacher’s job in the academic success of a student. Ensuring a safe and comfortable learning environment motivates Vianey to get involved in the community and run for re-election to the Hueneme Elementary School Board.
